The Curse of the Scroll

Zechariah 5:3

“Then he said to me, 'This is the curse that is going forth over the face of the whole land; surely everyone who steals will be purged away according to the writing on one side (of the scroll), and everyone who swears will be purged away according to the writing on the other side (of the scroll).’

Simply put, don’t steal, for the Lord sees your heart just as He sees your actions. Do not swear, let your words be pure and honest in all you say. Although we are forgiven through trusting in Christ, as the text indicates, He will judge the sin in our lives.
