1 Timothy 1:3-4
“As I urged you when I went into Macedonia—remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine, nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.”
Here we see Paul’s instruction to Timothy was to, make sure the Ephesian believers did not get caught up in any doctrine other than the simplicity of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Good advise to all who would seek to teach or share the Word of God. Keep it simple, keep the main thing the main thing, and you’ll never go wrong.
The Truth
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
