1 Timothy 4:12
“Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
So often we are guilty of exhorting others to do something when we ourselves do not. It’s the old attitude, “Do as I say, not as I do.” Credibility comes from action, accomplishment, leadership through example, not in saying one thing and doing another.
Timothy, a young man, was a true example to his brethren in word, conduct, love, spirit, faith and purity. May we all be that example of godliness to anyone that might take a close look at our life.
The Truth
“For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.” (1 Peter 2:21)
