Hebrews 10:4-5
"For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for me."
The Law had its expression through the sacrifice of animals on the altar first in the Tabernacle and later in the Jerusalem Temple. The sacrifices to God were needed because all the people regularly broke the Law. The many sacrifices under the Law did not change people for the better, for it was impossible for their blood to cleans the sinner.
God, loving us and wanting to rescue us from the insufficient animal sacrifices, provided an infinitely better sacrifice in the body of His own Son.
The Truth
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, That whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
