Hebrews 4:14
“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.”
Our text is not referring to a mere human priest, pastor or minister but to Jesus Christ who came and died for you and me. As our priestly Representative, He Himself became the Sacrifice needed...He satisfied the holiness, justice and righteousness of God, fulfilling the Law on our behalf.
The confession to hold fast to hear is found in Romans 10:9, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Hold fast to Jesus Christ our compassionate High Priest. He knows what we are going through. Trust in Him and receive His rest.
