Elders

Titus 2:2

“The older men” (elders) are to “be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love (and) in patience."

Here Paul gives us the sound qualities of the church elder:
1) He avoids excess, extravagance and over-indulgence of appetites and passions.
2) He conducts himself with a dignified behavior.
3) One who is self-controlled, self-restrained and discreet.
4) He is uncorrupt, healthy and wholesome in mind.
5) He lovingly forgives and lovingly serves.
6) He does not lose heart when things do not turn out the way he had hoped and expected, but has a perfect confidence in God.

The Truth

“Wisdom is with aged men, with long life is understanding.” (Job 12:12)
