I Was No Prophet

Amos 7:14 “The Answer of Amos”

“Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was an herdsman, and a gatherer of sycamore fruit.”

Amos was a simple herdsman who obeyed the call of the LORD. Like Moses and David, who were both found watching over flocks of sheep when God call them, Amos was no different.

None of these men claimed to be intellectuals and yet all were used by God to minister to His people. Meaning, ability is not as important to God as availability.

May we all be available to do His will when He calls.

The Truth

“Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)
