“For
Mordecai the Jew was second only
to King Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews and in favor with his many kinsmen,
one who sought the good of his people and one who spoke for the welfare of his
whole nation.” (v.3)
The story
of Esther ends with the people of God experiencing peace and prosperity, with
Mordecai second only to the king in prominence and power, and Haman dead,
hanging from the very gallows he built for Mordecai. It demonstrates to us the
faithfulness of God in the light of the faithlessness of His people.
I’m so glad
He is faithful, and can turn the tables of our undeserving lives, even when we
seem destined for our own destruction. Thank you LORD!
The Truth
“Oh, love
the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the
faithful, And fully repays the proud person.” (Psalm 31:23)
