God's Counsel Shall Stand
“And he
(Balaam) answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the LORD
has put in my mouth?” (v.12)
Though
Balak pushed for his own way many times in this chapter alone, Gods’ message
through Balaam never changed. The requested curse of Israel by Balak, was turned
into a blessing by the Lord through Balaam.
Men
change their minds, and break their words; but God never changes his mind, and
therefore never recalls his promise. Though there are many evils in man's
heart, God's counsels shall stand.

“The counsel
of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.”
(Psalm 33:11)
