Genesis 29:25
"So it came about in the morning that, behold, it was Leah! And he said to Laban, 'What is this you have done to me? Was it not for Rachel that I served with you? Why then have you deceived me?'"
Jacob awoke in the morning with a feeling of happiness that was greater than any hangover he might have been experiencing. But then he turned and looked at his wife, Rachel, who was lying next to him. But it wasn't Rachel! It was Leah, her older sister! He was shocked, frightened and angry! He had been tricked!
The response of Laban, "It is not the practice in our place to marry off the younger before the firstborn," (v.26-27) suggests that Jacob's Uncle had not just come up with this scheme at the last minute - He had likely planned it right from the beginning; from the time when Jacob had asked for the hand of Rachel in marriage. Jacob now knew he had been tricked by the master.
What goes around comes around.
The Truth
“A false witness will not go unpunished, And he who speaks lies will not escape.” (Proverbs 19:5)
