Concerning the porters, their job was
to open and shut the doors of the temple, to keep all impure and improper
persons from entering into it, or any of the vessels being carried out of it. Concerning
the treasurers, their main job was to guard both the sacred vessels of the
temple and the collection of the daily offerings given to the LORD by the
people.
In our churches today there are many
who work to carryout these same responsibilities insuring both order and security
for all who come to worship.
The Truth
“But
everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.” (1 Corinthians 14:40)
