“When Jesus
therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his
head, and gave up the ghost.” (v.30)
Those
who witnessed the crucifixion of Jesus saw His hours of agony and heard Him cry
out in a loud voice, “It is finished!” as He gave up His spirit (John 19:30).
His final words from the cross were not a cry of painful defeat but of triumph,

The
Truth: He said to
me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.
To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of
life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God

the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." (Revelation
21:6-8)
