2 Peter 3:9
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
This passage refers to Christ’s promised return. The fact that He has not yet returned, does not mean He won’t – oh, He will.
He waits (longsuffering) but He is never slow. He waits but is never lacking in His promise. He is waiting, until the full number of those appointed to “salvation” (2 Peter 3:15), repent and defers the “day of judgment “until then.
The Truth
“Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?” (Ezekiel 18:32)
